When a kid feels the big feels, and acts out in an explosive manner, they are trying to tell us something they don't have the words for. Worry. Anxiety. Panic. Frustration. Exhaustion. Rage. Fear. Doubt. Shame. Unsure. To name a few.
Parents have a tremendous responsibility to teach their children how to respond to all these feels in an adaptive way. Many adults from my generation and older were often not taught adaptive coping skills or a wide emotional vocabulary to really express how they feel.
My upcoming parent training and remote parenting classes will teach you evidence based, concrete tools to teach you and your child how to positively manage these behaviors and feelings.
