This quote speaks to to one of the many benefits of having daily intentional interactions with your child. Literally, all it takes is 5 intentional minutes.
In a world that is filled with SO much uncertainty, we have a duty and obligation to help children make sense of their emotions. To coach them through their feelings. They only know how to label their emotions if we teach them by labeling emotions we see them expressing outwardly, or through words they are telling us, or by labeling our own emotions and the emotions we observe in others.
How much lighter would your emotional backpack be if someone took at least 5 minutes a day to just really check in on you, sooth you, console you, genuinely care how you're doing and validate your feelings based on your experiences?
